Stan Lee Honors Elvis Presley With New Comic Book

Liquid Comics announced today that it will release an original short story about Elvis Presley, written by comic book legend Stan Lee. Commemorating the 35th anniversary in celebration of the life and legacy of Elvis Presley, the story by Lee was originally created as part of an exclusive hardcover, collector's item anthology entitled Graphic Elvis.

Liquid Comics is now making Stan Lee's Elvis comic story available to thousands of people for free as part of Free Comic Book Day, on May 5th. Artwork for the Stan Lee short story was created by Indian artist Jeevan J. Kang.

Stan Lee says, "What a thrill it is for me to be included in a book celebrating the life of Elvis Presley. I remember the time I first saw him on TV, when he burst upon the music scene like a blazing comet. I remember his indescribably rich voice, his incredible sense of rhythm, his magnificent range -- from rock, to pop, to ballads and hymns. I remember the indescribably powerful impact he had on the youth of the nation -- and the world. How lucky we were to have seen and heard him, because there was only one Elvis Presley, whose songs and whose memory will live forever."

When we first heard that Anna Dello Russo would be designing an ‘over-the-top accessories collection‘ for H&M, we immediately thought, “Well, this is absolutely worth lining up for. Just tell us when and where and we’ll be there, credit cards ready!” The past few H&M collaborations have had us salivating but unfortunately we missed out on Marni, skipped Versace and only snagged a few accessories from Lanvin. But this one is a can’t-miss, won’t-miss (using our Diddy voice). Anna Dello Russo is known for her over-the-top style and personality, so of course the former Vogue Italia Fashion Editor would create a collection that embodies her personality. So that, to us, means incredibly ornate handbags, jewelry, shoes and sunglasses. And from the sneak peek via H&M, it looks like we’re right.
