Custom Nike SB P-Rods

Fresh and Fly has released a pair of Nike P-Rods featuring new accents and a gator-skin effect. The designer painted the Nike swoosh red to match the inner lining. This step was likely the least difficult in transforming these hot sneakers into an example of custom design innovation.

The imprints on the dark gray suede shown below are created through a wood burning process. The designer took a chance on ruining the P-Rods with this technique but he managed to pull it off. The gator-skin look on the dark gray plays off the smoothness of the light gray suede to give another layer of complexity to these shoes.

Wella Fashion Week

BECAUSE YOU MEAN SO MUCH, WE CAN NEVER EVER SAY GOOD-BYE!

I thank God for using you to bring me into this world and for picking such a great man to be my father. The love and admiration I have for you is unmeasurable. Our connection, our friendship, communication, your wisdom, your knowledge, your unconditional and never ending love & support for me. There's nothing I can't tell you. Your such a privilege and a blessing. I know I'm highly favored. In part because God made you for me. And I know you're thinking... What? Its the other way around. But the truth is I was in the making from the time you were born. You were living for both me and you. I have a lot of growing and learning to do and it does stress me out at times, but it makes things a lot easier knowing that you are here to teach me the things I don't know and to reteach me the things I think I already do.

To be able to say you are my mother, MY MOTHER, is enough in itself. But the fact is, it gets better. And people on the outside looking in probably think, we are too close, or we talk too much, or your influence is too great, but if they had you as their mother it wouldn't be any different. I couldn't ask for a better teacher and example to live up to. You've done an outstanding job, in your quest to prepare me for life's journey And yes you are human and living without perfection, but you're perfect for me. What anyone else thinks is completely irrelevant.

Your spirit is priceless. Your heart is filled with nothing but good intentions, giving, and forgiveness. I need and want to only treasure you all the days of your life. I know you feel both drained and unappreciated by everyone at times, but its only because you are such a special lady, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. You're very much needed. I've learned so much from you. I've missed out on a lot of life's curve balls because you went through the fire so I wouldn't have to.

To say I love you is not saying enough. To say that I care isn't either. But to be able to say that you are MY MOTHER... means so much. You've taught me so many life lessons, and I am forever grateful. You are my Hero, my Superstar, and the only TRUE DIVA I know.

Happy Mother's Day

It is that time of the year again where we all distress over what to get our mothers for mother's day. So to share my thoughts: In the past, we've covered flowers, so this year I figured, why not a cake? At least it is edible! You can be super personal and make her a cake or if you are not at home, you can send her a cake. They have super convenient shops where you can order a cake online and have it delivered these days- just make sure you know where your mom will be on the day.....A good idea, if I may say so myself, is night wear. Unless you REALLY REALLY know your mom, you will never find an item of clothing that she'd really like and would wear in public. So the next best thing is night wear. They are generally less picky about pajamas and robes since they are worn in the confines of home. You can even get them super cute matchey matchey ones (above: Victoria's Secret)! Or you can get her cute cushiony slippers (though Chinese superstition prevents me from giving anyone anything related to shoes...shame!) to walk around in or a set of luxury towels- hey, its practical, a home cannot ever have too many towels! (left: Victoria's Secret, right: Ralph Lauren).More items for home. You can consider glass vases and bowls, like this very elegant Nambe Piroett bowl (left). Or there are essence like this Anthousa Blossom Ambiance Trio (right). I know, it doesn't sound very useful. But surprisingly, my mom actually uses it!!
For something more personal, you may try getting them facial treatments. Not the daily ones since they probably already have a routine, but those intensive ones used once a week. My grandmother really really LOVES this intensive treatment one from Darphin (left) and if she loves it, it must be REALLY good. Or you can try the Estee Lauder intensive lifting mask above as well (right). I don't have any personal accounts about this product, but they are usually good with their rejuvenating products. And when all else fails, I always turn to Shutterfly- it is personalize but very easy and convenient. I quite like the canvas photo idea.
