James Cameron Dives to Deepest Part of the Ocean

James Cameron took his advanced one man submarine to the bottom of the Mariana Trench on Sunday. Cameron even sent a tweet when he reached the deepest point that said, "Just arrived at the ocean's deepest pt. Hitting bottom never felt so good. Can't wait to share what I'm seeing w/ you."

Cameron's sub is capable of compelling 3-D imagery so he should have some amazing footage to show everyone from the bottom of the deepest part of the ocean. Early footage from Cameron's trip does not show much life at the deepest part of the ocean. James Cameron was very cramped inside the submarine. Take a look:

Beef Company Behind Pink Slime Suspends

Beef Products, Inc., a producer of lean beef processed products, has shut down operations at three of its four plants. Reuters has an story about Gerald Zirnstein, the former U.S. government scientist who coined the term "pink slime," which is being used to describe the chemically-treated scrap meat and cartilage going into U.S. ground beef. There has been a growing public sentiment against pink slime, which NPR describes here. At the press conference, frustrated BPI officials say the "pink slime" stories have created a misconception in the public and have let to a misunderstanding about their product.
